Felicia Gunter (BiBi) was born in Houston Texas in 1974. In 1983 she moved to Gladewater, where she permanently resides. She has a wonderful husband, five daughters, and one son.
At age 5, Felicia remembers an aunt introducing her to painting. “The smell of the paint, the beautiful tubes and the possibilities of making pretty pictures was exhilarating!” In middle school, her art teacher taught her all about color mixing and how she could paint outside of the lines to express herself. When Felicia graduated high school, she went right into being a wife and mother. Desire for art was expressed in decorating, but mostly, her inner artist was a distant memory , a ”sleeping giant”.
In 2022, after a long period of pain and deep loss, she attended an immersive art event. “It took my breath away and reminded me how important art was to me! It awakened a longing to express myself that I had forgotten was inside me!” She started painting murals on her grandchildren’s walls. As she created the scenes for them, she remembered how delightful the brush felt in her hand! The looks on the children’s faces made her realize that art is, in fact, life changing. This is why she signs her work BiBi. That's the name her grandchildren gave her.
Felicia likes to present colorful expressions of joy. She wants to transport viewers into the wonders of this world and bring beauty to the forefront of your mind. Felicia also finds beauty in broken and discarded things. Her work often has texture, dimension and flavor! She wants you to feel the art, not just look at it!
Felicia makes her art from the comfort of a corner in her living room. Much like Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, “In my own little corner, in my own little chair. I can be whatever I want to be.” Her corner is a place of freedom! Its a haven for restorative work and endless beauty. She plans to continue her journey as a curious artist, painting and expressing the beauties and dreamy side of life.

My first artist reception at the Edom Art House. Surrounded by sweet and supportive loved ones!
Dropping off artwork at Chris Brown's Gallery in 2024.
My artwork is a window into how I like to see the world. There is beauty all around us. I want the viewer to escape the trials in life and find joy on the canvas. I want to transport you to a place of wonder and forgotten happiness.
I am a multi media artist. I use inks, acrylics and oils mostly on canvas. My choice in bright soothing colors exemplifies the bright world I see!
In my darkest hours it was art that brought me back to the light! The feeling of the paint gliding across the canvas is therapy for my soul.
